MIPS attracts in excess of $3 million in NHMRC project grant funding

06 January 2011

Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) has attracted in excess of $3 million in research funding through the prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) project grant scheme.

"This is a fantastic result for MIPS, particularly on the back of our recent success in ARC programs. I am especially pleased that some of these are ‘first time' project grant holders who are early career researchers and therefore gives me great confidence for the future."

"These outstanding NHMRC results on top of the recent ARC results mean that MIPS has been successful in gaining 14 new Commonwealth Competitive grants, with MIPS investigators being involved in a further three externally. The NHMRC project grants will provide approximately $3m in research funding to the institute over the next 3 years and generates enormous opportunity. NHMRC and ARC grant success is a clear indication of the quality of research being undertaken within MIPS," said Professor Bill Charman, Director, Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
